Finland March 2025: Toyota RAV4 signs first ever win just above the Tesla Model Y

The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling vehicle in Finland in March.

Finnish new car sales endure a third straight negative month in March (and 15th out of the past 16 months) at -4.7% to 6,082 units. The Q1 tally is off -9.4% to 16,447. Toyota (-21.4%) keeps the brands pole position with 15.5% share and despite a sharp year-on-year fall. In contrast Volkswagen (+37.6%) posts another outstanding result in 2nd place, a ranking it also holds over Q1 vs. #4 over the Full Year 2024. Below, Volvo (-31.9%), Mercedes (-11.1%), Kia (-11%) and Skoda (-9.9%) all skid. Ford (+79.2%) and Audi (+45.9%) deliver the biggest gains in the Top 10. Tesla is down -39.4% for the month and -46.9% over Q1.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota RAV4 (+183.6%) surges ahead to edge past the Tesla Model Y (-39.7%) and claim its very first monthly win in the country. Its previous best was #2 reached in October 2021 and January 2022. The Model Y climbs from outside the YTD Top 30 as of end of February to #11 over Q1. This is still a far cry from the third place it held over the Full Year 2024. The Toyota C-HR (+70%), VW ID.4 (+31.3%) and Skoda Enyaq (+33.6%) all post fantastic scores in the remainder of the Top 5. The Ford Focus (+202.3%) also impresses at #20. The Kia EV3 leads recent launches at #11 ahead of the Polestar 4 (#15).
