Colombia February 2025: Renault Duster takes charge

The Renault Duster available in Colombia is still the previous generation.

17,114 new vehicles found a buyer in Colombia in February, a solid 9.6% year-on-year improvement. The year-to-date tally is therefore up 15.8% to 31,513. Kia (+43.8%) surges to the brands top spot with 14.7% share, its 4th ever monthly win after June, August and December 2024. Renault (+18.5%) is relegated to 2nd place despite beating the market, but keeps the YTD lead thanks to a very strong January showing. Mazda (+27.7%) is up two spots on last month to #3, distancing Toyota (-33.4%) and Chevrolet (-15.5%) both in big trouble. Hyundai (+116.3%), BYD (+254.4%), Volvo (+130.1%) and MG (+180.8%) post surreal growth below.

Model-wise, the Renault Duster (+9.8%) matches the market to take the lead both for the month and year-to-date. Note the previous generation of the model is still on sale here. Last year’s leader, the Mazda CX-30 (-14.1%), is back up three ranks on January to #2 but ranks #3 year-to-date. The Kia Picanto (-17.6%) is also in difficulty year-on-year to round out the podium. In contrast the Mazda2 (+206.2%) and Toyota Land Cruiser (+118.8%) excel. The Renault Kardian is the best-selling recent launch again but drops from #2 in January to #10 this month. It is followed by the Kia K3 Cross (#11), BYD Yuan Up (#17) and Renault Arkana (#18).
