Egypt Full Year 2024: Nissan Sunny repeats at #1, Chery places four models in Top 10

After freefalling -50.8% in 2023, the Egyptian new light vehicle market rallies back somewhat in 2024 at +12.6% to 96,673 units. We still remain below the symbolic 100,000 annual sales mark for only the second time in at least 20 years. Strikingly the Top 7 brands all outpace the market. Nissan (+19.6%) improves to 16.8% share, but Chery (+34.3%) is catching up at 14.2%. Hyundai (+116.9%) is up four spots to #3, overtaking Toyota (+25%), Chevrolet (+27.3%) and MG (+34.3%) all down one spot. BYD (+20.2%) is up three ranks to #7.

Model-wise, the Nissan Sunny previous generation (+6.4%) repeats at #1 but sees its share thaw slightly to 12.6%. The Chevrolet T-Series (+15.1%) is back up to 7.6% of the market while the Hyundai Accent (+26%) and BYD F3 (+20.2%) ensure the Top 4 is identical to 2023. The Toyota Corolla (+71.2%) is up three spots to #4 and the Hyundai Elantra (+530.7%) up 27 to #6. Four Cherys follow: the Tiggo 7 (+11.8%) is down two ranks to #7, the new Tiggo 4 Pro lands directly at #8, the Arrizo 5 (+26.1%) is up one to #9 and the Tiggo 8 (+179.4%) up 17 to #10.
