Slovakia Full Year 2024: Skoda Octavia and Fabia on top, Kia Sportage leads in December

New car sales in Slovakia gain 6.1% year-on-year to 93,409 units. Skoda (+11%) improves its market share from 19.8% to 20.7% and distances Toyota (-9.5%) and Kia (-5.3%) vastly underperforming but camping on their 2023 ranking at #2 and #3 respectively. Volkswagen (+35.3%) is euphoric and steps over Hyundai (-5.1%) to land at #4. Renault (+10.9%) is the only additional Top 10 member beating the market at #9. Dacia (+2.2%) and Mercedes (+0.9%) are in positive whereas Peugeot (-4%) and BMW (-6.1%) both recede. MG (+158%) surges from #23 to #17.

Over in the models charts, the Skoda Octavia (-0.2%) is stable and repeats at #1 with 4.8% of the market. The Skoda Fabia (+46.1%) posts a fantastic year-on-year lift and gains three spots on last year to land at #2. The Fabia was #1 in February and from August to October. The Hyundai i30 (+21.6%), which was #1 over the Full Year 2023, also scores a great uptick but stays at #4. The Kia Ceed (+0.5%) drops two spots to #4 but was #1 in July. The Kia Sportage (stable) drops to #5 but managed its first ever monthly win in December. Skoda places a further four models inside the Top 10: the Kamiq (+4.8%) at #6, the Karoq (+18.2%) at #7, the Scala (-7.1%) at #8 and the Kodiaq (+26%) at #10.
