Pakistan Full Year 2024: Suzuki Alto up to record 33.6% share

The Suzuki Alto reached a record 45.5% share in April.

After a mediocre 2023, sales of new locally produced light vehicles in Pakistan rally back up 52.1% to 125,048 in 2024 according to PAMA. We however remain way below the 227,392 sales of 2022. Suzuki (+64.8%) beats the surging market to improve its share from 47.4% to 51.4% whereas Toyota (+30.6%) drops from 24.3% to 20.9%. Honda (+44.6%) and Hyundai (+10.4%) follow but disappoint. Sazgar Haval shoots up 232.9% but didn’t share December data. Note Changan and other Chinese manufacturers such as MG do not share sales data with PAMA but are reported to be quite successful here.

Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (+98.7%) almost doubles its sales year-on-year to reach 33.6% share, the nameplate’s highest ever on an annual basis. It even hit a record 45.5% in April. The Toyota Corolla (+45.3%) is estimated to stay in 2nd place with 7.6% share while the Sazgar Haval H6 (+232.9%) surges 12 spots on last year to #3 even without December sales. The Honda Civic (+78.6%) and Toyota Yaris (+40.7%) are estimated to round out the Top 5.
