Israel Full Year 2024: BYD Atto 3 repeats at #1, Chinese at 18.5% share

According to data shared with us by our local partner cartube.co.il, new car sales in Israel edge up 0.6% year-on-year in 2024 to 271,735 units. Toyota (+8.2%) leaps from #3 directly to the brands pole position with 12.7% share. The Japanese carmaker benefits from mediocre scores by Hyundai (-32.1%) and Kia (-21.7%). Skoda (+32.4%) excels at #4 ahead of BYD (+10.3%) down one spot to #5. Seat (+54.6%) surges to #10 with Chery (+16%), Suzuki (+4.6%) and Mitsubishi (+2.7%) also solid. Xpeng (+21069.6%) soars to #15 and even ranked #3 with 9.8% share in December. All in all, Chinese carmakers are up 29.9% to 18.5% of the market vs. 14.3% a year ago.
Over in the models lane, the BYD Atto 3 (-25.3%) repeats at #1 but fell to #16 over Q4. The Hyundai Elantra (+3.9%) is up one spot to #2 while the Skoda Octavia (+76.8%) shoots up 15 ranks to land on the third step of the podium. The Corolla Cross (+127.8%) is now Toyota’s best-seller in Israel at #4 overall vs. #26 over the Full Year 2023, above the RAV4 (+52.3%) at #5 and the Yaris Cross (-3.5%) at #6. The Chery FX (+145.4%) is up 24 ranks to #7 and the Hyundai Kona (+35.4%) is up five to #8. The Xpeng G6 is the best-selling 2024 launch at #29 but ranked #2 over Q4.
