Argentina Full Year 2024: Peugeot 208 ends Fiat Cronos reign

New vehicle sales in Argentina drop -8.1% year-on-year in 2024 to 390,467. Toyota (-9.4%) manages a fourth consecutive month in the brands top spot with a dominant 21.7% share. The podium is unchanged with Volkswagen (+13.9%) improving from 13.3% to 16.5% share and Fiat (-14.8%) dropping from 13.1% to 12.1% of the market. Peugeot (-11.4%) and Ford (-5.2%) both take advantage of Renault’s troubles (-31.2%) to climb to #4 and #5 respectively. Jeep (+44.2%) and Citroen (+16.7%) both go against the market with fantastic upticks, as do Ram (+1350%), Honda (+121.9%) and BAIC (+240.1%) further down.

Model-wise, the Peugeot 208 (-18.6%) scores its first ever annual victory despite a hefty loss, distancing the Toyota Hilux (-5.6%). Note the 208 topped the monthly charts only twice whereas the Hilux did so seven times. After three straight years of domination, the Fiat Cronos (-41.1%) implodes to #3 and sees its share thaw from 11.2% to 7.2%. The Ford Ranger (-5.2%) resists and is up one spot to #4. Outstanding year for the Toyota Yaris (+87.1%) up seven ranks to #5 ahead of a struggling VW Amarok (-38.3%). The VW Polo (+115.1%), Toyota Corolla Cross (+35.8%) and VW Taos (+15.1%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.
