Netherlands November 2024: Volvo (+78.8%), Toyota (+46.7%), VW (+44.8%) highlight surging market

The new EX30 helps push Volvo sales up 78.8% in November

The Dutch new car market surges 22% year-on-year in November to 34,434 units, tilting the year-to-date volume into positive territory at +0.4% to 344,624. HEVs hold 39.6% share thanks to 13,653 sales, BEVs are just below at 39.4% and 13,584 units, petrol is at 19.9% (6,856), diesel at 0.6% (207) and LPG at 0.4% (134).

Strikingly, the top 4 best-selling carmakers all outpace the already soaring market. Volkswagen is up 44.8% to repeat at #1 with 10.9% share, it distances Tesla (+36.4%) up ten spots on October to #2 ahead of Toyota (+46.7%) and Volvo (+78.8%). Kia (-18.55) and Skoda (-3.7%) struggle, Renault (+17.8%) and BMW (+4.4%) are up but below the market rate while Ford (+131.7%) and Audi (+33.1%) impress. Dongfeng lands at #35 and Leapmotor at #38. 

Over in the models charts, the Tesla Model Y (+41.1%) returns to the top spot it holds year-to-date with a splendid 5.4% share. It is followed by the new Volvo EX30 at 3.6% and the Tesla Model 3 (+39.8%) at 2.9%. The VW Polo (+26.8%) repeats at #4 ahead of the Audi Q4 (+764.3%) at #5 and the Toyota Aygo X (+176.5%). The VW Tiguan (+313.5%) also flies off at #7 as does the Skoda Kodiaq (+314.2%) at #9.
