Morocco October 2024: Hyundai (+58.5%), Volkswagen (+57.7%) stand out

Hyundai is the third best-selling carmaker in Morocco in October.

15,003 new Passenger cars and Light commercials found a buyer in Morocco in October, a splendid 17.2% year-on-year lift. In the detail, Passenger cars are up 14.9% to 12,972 and Light commercials surge 33.7% to 2,031. The year-to-date PC tally is 122,820, up 4.7% over the same period a year ago. In the PC ranking, brand leader Dacia (+15.1%) matches the market growth and holds a weak 21.9% share vs. 25.5% year-to-date. Renault (-12.9%) endures a mediocre month at 12.6% share vs. 15.2% but Hyundai (+58.5%) posts the largest gain in the Top 15 to repeat at #3 with 9.6% share. Peugeot (+14.7%) is more shy but overtakes Volkswagen (+57.7%) in great shape. BMW (+39.2%) and Citroen (+37.9%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Kia (+14.2%), Opel (+11.2%) and more strikingly Audi (-6.3%) underperform. BYD (+2866.7%) advances to a record #19.
