Oman January-September 2024: Toyota up to 53.9% share, Land Cruiser #1

The Toyota Land Cruiser is the best-selling vehicle in Oman.

46,266 new cars found a buyer in Oman over the first 9 months of the year, a solid 9.2% year-on-year improvement. Brand leader Toyota (+23.7%) tightens its stranglehold on the market even further to bring its share to a suffocating 53.8%. Hyundai (+5.8%) follows at a distance it 6.7% share, it overtakes MG (-35.4%) in freefall at 5.9% share vs. 10% a year ago. Isuzu (+28.6%) is in excellent shape and gains three spots to point in 4th position. Honda (+95.7%), Suzuki (+20.9%) and Mitsubishi (+13.3%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.

Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+53.4%) confirms it is the new favourite of Omani car buyers with a splendid 13.3% share, edging past the Toyota Hilux (+58.8%) at 13% of the market. The Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (-1.3%) remains in third place ahead of the Toyota Fortuner (+27.7%) up two spots on last year to #4. The MG 5 (-8%) can’t benefit from the market growth but manages to stay at #4. The Toyota Prado (+41.7%), Yaris Sedan (+40.4%), Isuzu D-Max (+39.6%) and Toyota Corolla (+25.3%) impress below.
