Slovenia August 2024: Renault Captur and Clio top strong market (+13.5%)
The Renault Captur signs its 2nd win in the past four months.
3,678 new cars found a buyer in Slovenia in August, a solid 13.5% year-on-year improvement. This leads to a year-to-date tally up 6.5% to 36,545. Strikingly, the Top 5 carmakers all beat the market. Volkswagen is up 21.7% to 14.5% share, followed by Renault (+75.6%) at 13.1% and Skoda (+28.1%) at 12.4%. The podium is unchanged on last month. Toyota (+14.1%) is up five spots on July to #4 while Kia (+20.2%) roads out the Top 5 like last month. Peugeot (+6%) and Citroen (+12%) are slightly less dynamic, just as Hyundai (-31.3%) and Dacia (-4.4%) struggle. Audi (+13.7%) is also strong at #9. Just outside the Top 10, Ford (+81.2%) and Fiat (+275.9%) impress.
Model-wise, the Renault Captur (+158.1%) signs its 2nd win in the last four months alongside last May with a strong 5.2% share vs. 3.1% so far this year. The Renault Clio (+414.3%) takes the 2nd spot and still easily ranks #1 year-to-date. The Skoda Kodiaq (+50%) is up six ranks on last month to #3, its 2nd podium finish in Slovenia in the past 5 months. The Skoda Octavia (+37%) is back up one spot to #4, holding onto the #2 YTD spot for 37 sales above the Captur. In fact all Top 9 models outpace the market, with the VW Golf (+141.9%) the most dynamic ahead of the Peugeot 2008 (+94.7%), VW Tiguan (+67.3%), Skoda Kamiq (+54.5%) and Dacia Duster (+50%).
