Cyprus August 2024: Kia holds 26.8% share, places Picanto and Stonic on top
The Kia Picanto is the best-selling vehicle in Cyprus in August.
Data shared with us by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT show a Cyprus new car market up 10.3% year-on-year in August to 812 sales, leading to a year-to-date tally up 9% to 10,962. Kia (+186.8%) posts a stellar month to reach 26.8% share, its highest since the 28.7% it reached in July 2023. Hyundai (+83.7%) is also very strong and ensures the Top 2 brands are Korean with a solid 11.1% share vs. 9.7% so far this year. Toyota (-17.8%) advances one spot on July to #3 ahead of Volkswagen (-41.8%) freefalling to #4 but climbing to #2 year-to-date ahead of Nissan (+10.3%). Mercedes (+90.5%) is also in outstanding shape, up three ranks on last month to #5. Model-wise, the Kia Picanto and Stonic take the lead with 11% and 9.6% share respectively. The Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage and VW T-Roc round out the Top 5 ahead of the Toyota C-HR and Kia Ceed.
