Hungary July 2024: Suzuki S-Cross best-seller

The Suzuki S-Cross is the best-selling vehicle in Hungary in July.

8,525 new passenger cars found a Hungarian buyer in July, a shy 2.2% year-on-year increase. This is to be compared with the 15,285 sales of pre-pandemic July 2019. So far in 2024, 71,867 passenger cars have been registered, 10.7% above the same period in 2023 (64,936). Toyota (+7.1%) holds onto the top spot with 13.4% share vs. 11% for Suzuki (+52.7%) catching up on weak year-ago sales. Suzuki is however #1 year-to-date with volumes up 81.8% and a 13.2% share vs. 12.1% for Toyota (+1.1%). Volkswagen (-6.2%) struggles in third place above Ford (+67.9%) and Kia (+11.9%). Hyundai (+82.4%), Peugeot (+60.4%) and Volvo (+30.8%) stand out, while BYD climbs to #15 overall.

Over in the models charts, the Suzuki S-Cross (+61.5%) takes the lead only 9 units above the YTD leader, the Suzuki Vitara (+269.1%). The Kia Ceed (+51.2%) rounds out the podium with the Toyota Corolla (-23.8%) and Skoda Octavia (-58.8%) in tow, both struggling. The Ford Kuga (+174%) leaps up to #7 while the Toyota Yaris Cross (+60.2%), Yaris (+47.4%) and Kia Sportage (+25.7%) also stun.
