Denmark July 2024: VW ID.4 #1, Renault Austral up to #3
The Renault Austral climbs on the Danish podium in July.
11,517 new cars found a buyer in Denmark in July, a timid +2.5% year-on-year lift. The year-to-date volume is now up 2.4% to 97,844. Volkswagen (+33.9%) reclaims the brands lead both in July with 14.6% share and year-to-date at 10.3%. Audi (-11.6%) advances one spot on last month to #2, ahead of a surging Renault (+312.6%), a stable Skoda (+0.7%) and a very dynamic Mercedes (+104.7%), Toyota (+22.1%) and BMW (+49.1%). #1 last month, Tesla (-14.9%) falls to #8 and loses the YTD pole position. BYD shoots up 1092.3% year-on-year to break all its records at #13 with 310 sales and 2.7% share, its previous best being #18 with 269 units and 1.6% share last March.
The VW ID.4 (+261.9%) signs a second win in the past three months with 5.7% share, while the Tesla Model Y (-8%) edges down to #2 with 4.6% of the market. The Model Y remains by far the best-selling vehicle year-to-date despite a ghastly -40.7% loss. The Renault Austral (+3550%) climbs five spots on last month to a record third place whereas it ranks #20 so far in 2024. The Audi Q4 e-tron (+95.5%) repeats at #4 with a tremendous year-on-year evolution. The Kia Niro (+152%) lifts no less than 81 ranks on June to #7 while the new Renault Scenic is up 31 to #8.
