In a wobbly European context, Danish new car sales do not understand the word ‘crisis’ and even go from strength to strength this year: on the back on 3 consecutive all-time record years in 2011, 2012 and 2013, February sales are up a further 20% year-on-year to 14,759 registrations, a new-all time high for the month, bringing the year-to-date total to 31,028 units, up 15% on 2013. Volkswagen reclaims the brands pole position off Peugeot at 12.1% share vs. 10.9% while model-wise, it’s still city car heaven out there: the VW Up celebrates 19 consecutive months at #1 with 962 sales and 6.5% share, the Peugeot 107 in runout mode is up 3 spots on January to #2 and 4.6%, ahead of the Ford Ka up a huge 25 ranks to #3 and 4.4%, the Toyota Aygo at #4 and the Chevrolet Spark at #5. Don’t forget the Skoda Citigo at #8 and Kia Picanto at #9.
