60,227 new vehicles hit Qatar roads in 2023, a 6.2% year-on-year uptick. Brand leaders Toyota (-9.5%) and Nissan (-6.4%) can’t keep up with the market growth and both endure significant drops. They see their share fall from 37.1% to 31.6% and 8.8% to 7.8% respectively. In contrast Lexus (+129.7%) spectacularly shoots up and gains six spots on 2022 to #3. Kia (+1.6%) is relegated to #4 as a result. Land Rover (+74.5%) also impresses and is up three ranks on last year to #5. MG (+28.9%), Geely (+22.9%) – breaking into the Top 10 – and Suzuki (+20.1%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.
Over in the models lane, the Toyota Land Cruiser keeps the lead but sinks -27.1% year-on-year. As a reminder it grew by 103% over the year prior in 2022. The Lexus LX (+145.7%) manages the largest gain inside the Top 10 and climbs up three spots on last year to #2, dislodging the Toyota Hilux (-35.4%).
