South Korean carmaker Hyundai has been making waves in the Indian automobile market with its extensive range of cars. Among the different segments, Hyundai’s hatchbacks, particularly the i20 N Line, have managed to top bestseller charts since its launch. The i20 N Line seamlessly fuses elegance and efficiency with its sporty exterior appeal, high-quality interior ambience, supreme performance, and modern infotainment features. What sets the i20 N Line apart is the attractive price range it comes in. If you have been eyeing the Hyundai i20 N Line for a while, this article offers a detailed overview of its offerings.

Hyundai i20 N Line: An Overview

The i20 N Line was revealed to the Indian market in 2021. Based on positive feedback and customer suggestions, Hyundai has kept adding minor upgrades to the i20 N Line to keep up with changing trends and preferences. The biggest upgrade came last year, in 2023 when Hyundai launched the i20 N Line facelift.

Keeping all the core elements from the outgoing model, the facelift i20 N Line is sportier and more powerful than ever. It now comes in two broad trims: N6 and N8. It gets one petrol engine and the choice of either an MT or a DCT gearbox. Based on the powertrain combinations, there are four variants of the i20 N Line.

The i20 Line has an attractive price range of ₹11.21 lakhs to ₹14.33 lakhs (on-road price in Delhi). The base variants, N6 and N6 DCT are priced lower than the top N8 and N8 DCT variants.

The Exterior Outlook

The exterior design language of the i20 N Line reflects a distinct athletic elegance that demands attention wherever it goes. Right in the front, the textured black radiator grille with the ‘N’ badging adds the right amount of athletic appeal to the front. On both sides, the grille is flanked by the LED headlamps and the LED DRLs that offer visibility and style.

The N bumpers with vibrant red accents on the front and side skirts carry forward the frontal aesthetic to the sides. Here, functional elements include a puddle light and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The chrome highlights on the frontal fog lamps elevate the overall look. At the rear end, the i20 N Line reflects the signature characteristics of hatchbacks with a futuristic touch. The Z-shaped tail lamps contribute to the same.

The Interior Ambience

Stepping into the interiors, the i20 N Line offers a minimalist and sleek theme. The dominating black hue gets well-placed red highlights, giving it a peppy feel. Premium leather upholstery on the seats, steering wheel, and gear knob add a hint of opulence. The N-Line 3-spoke steering wheel gets the N-logo and has perforated leather with red stitching.

The seats have a checkered pattern with the N badging and are designed for optimal comfort. The doors have a dark metal finish on the handles, which elevates the all-black theme. The i20 N Line also gets a sunroof for both trims. The N6 gets an electric one, while the N8 gets a voice-enabled smart sunroof.

Comfort

The front and back seats have adjustable headrests, and the driver seats have an additional height-adjusting feature. The front centre console has a fixed armrest for the N6 and a sliding armrest for the N8 variants.

Storage

The i20 N Line is the perfect mix of utility and style and comes with ample storage options throughout the cabin. In addition to the glovebox, it has front and rear door map pockets, front and rear seat back pockets, a sunglass holder, and a rear parcel tray. The hatchback also offers a boot space of 311 litres, sufficient for luggage and everyday necessities.

Infotainment Features

In terms of infotainment, the i20 N Line gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation for the N6 variants and a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the N8 variants. It is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver-centric cockpit gets a TFT multi-information digital display cluster that provides all key information.

A 7-speaker Bose sound system enhances the aural experience, while the red colour ambient lighting system gives the interiors a sporty feel. Convenience and connectivity are ensured by wireless phone chargers, USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. Advanced features of the N8 trims include:
