Toyota (-2.6%) limits its fall to reach a gargantuan 23.5% share vs. 16.6% over the Full Year 2023. Skoda (+21.9%) defies the negative market with a splendid gain leading it to 11.4% share. Volvo (+1.7%) is more timid but steps up to 10.2% share vs. 8.5% over FY23. Kia (-4.8%) edges down at #4 while Volkswagen (-32.2%) and Mercedes (-21.4%) plummet. Hyundai (+33.8%) and Nissan (+22.7%) score the biggest gains in the Top 10. Below, Tesla (+244.9%) ranks at #11 vs. #3 in December, Lexus (+37.1%) is at #17 and BYD makes its first appearance in the Top 30 directly at #18.
The VW ID.7 is inside the Finnish Top 25 in January.
Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (-47.2%) reclaims the top spot despite a ghastly year-on-year fall. It holds a healthy 6.7% of the market vs. 4.8% over FY23. The Skoda Octavia (+230.6%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+230.7%) both post fantastic lifts to complete the podium. Logically Toyota places five models inside the Top 9: the Yaris (-1.8%) at #4, C-HR (+68.6%) at #8 and RAV4 (-5%) at #9. The Nissan Qashqai (+90.4%) and Volvo XC60 (+46.7%) also make themselves noticed in the remainder of the Top 10. Notice also the VW ID.7 landing at #25
