Croatia January 2024: Opel Corsa tops market up 33.3%
The Opel Corsa is the best-selling vehicle in Croatia in January.
The Croatian new car market surges 33.3% year-on-year in January to 4,461 units. Skoda (+119.2%) holds onto the brands top spot with 13.8% share vs. 11.6% over the Full Year 2023. Opel (+57.2%) is up seven spots on December to #2 with Volkswagen (-14.1%) underperforming at #3. Toyota (+120.8%) and Suzuki (+162%) both post fantastic gains and close out the Top 5. BMW (+50.4%) is the only remaining Top 10 brand to beat the market as Audi (+28.3%), Hyundai (+20.7%) and Dacia (+17.5%) lose share and Renault (-8.8%) skids to #7 vs. #3 over FY2023.
Over in the models ranking, after 7 consecutive months outside the Top 20, the Opel Corsa (+164.4%) scores its first win since July 2021 with a stunning 7% share. It held just 1.5% of the FY2023 market. In fact 9 out of the Top 10 models outpace the market. The Skoda Octavia (+193.2%) repeats at #2 ahead of the Suzuki S-Cross (+218%) and last month’s winner the Dacia Duster (+39.4%). The Toyota Yaris Cross (+791.7%) manages the largest gain in the Top 20 by far and ranks #7. The Citroen C3 (+268.8%), Mazda CX-30 (+194.7%), Skoda Scala (+144%) and Karoq (+133.3%) also make themselves noticed.
