Denmark November 2023: Tesla 1-2, Xpeng G9 up to #22

Tesla holds 14.8% of the Danish market in November.

The Danish new car market is up a flamboyant 24.6% year-on-year in November to 16,354 units, bringing the year-to-date tally up 15.4% to 153,583. Tesla (+467.1%) is back up 6 spots on last month to spectacularly top the brands charts with 14.8% of the market vs. 11.9% so far this year. Mercedes (+15.4%) is up two ranks to #2 as is Toyota (+40.9%) at #3. Leader last month, Volkswagen (-26.6%) freefalls to #4, distancing BMW (+18.5%). Renault (+49.1%), Skoda (+43%) and Peugeot (+30.1%) also beat the market below. Nissan (+59%), Cupra (+76%) and Polestar (+97.3%) impress, while Xpeng is up to #21 and BYD (+357.7%) up to #23.

The Tesla Model Y (+309.9%) is the best-seller in Denmark for the 4th consecutive month and the 9th time this year. It reaches a sensational 10.4% share this month and 9.8% year-to-date. The Tesla Model 3 (+5338.5%) completes a Tesla 1-2 by climbing up 35 spots on October to #2. It now ranks #4 year-to-date vs. #82 over the Full Year 2022. The Skoda Enyaq (+106.4%) is the best of the rest at #3, making the podium entirely electric and followed by the Toyota Aygo X (+66%) and Peugeot 208 (+58.8%). In fact the entire Top 6 beats the market with the Renault Clio (+156%) in tow. The Nissan Qashqai (+141.8%) and Toyota Yaris (+77.1%) also make themselves noticed. The best-selling newcomer is the Xpeng G9 up 17 spots to a record #22, ahead of the Renault Austral at #28.
