Bulgaria October 2023: Toyota C-HR and Dacia Sandero top market up 53.9%
The Toyota C-HR is the most popular vehicle in Bulgaria in October.
New light vehicle sales in Bulgaria climb another 53.9% year-on-year in October to 4,256 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 27.2% to 35,507. Keep in mind Bulgaria is the king of re-exports so a significant part of the cars registered in the country actually never hit local roads, as they are directly re-exported to other EU countries. Toyota (+45.5%) remains the most popular manufacturer in the country with 11% share, distancing Skoda (+64.2%) and Dacia (+107.4%) both outpacing the market. Renault (+11.6%) is very soft at #4 ahead of Hyundai (+113.5%) scoring the largest gain in the Top 10. BMW (+92.5%) and Kia (+56.3%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10.
The Toyota C-HR scores its third win this year after February and August and advances to #2 year-to-date as a result whereas it only ranked #6 over the Full Year 2022. The Dacia Sandero is down one spot on September to #2 but accesses the YTD pole position albeit with only 5 units more than the C-HR. The Dacia Duster is up three ranks on last month to #3, ending the month ahead of the Hyundai i20 (+9 on September), Toyota Corolla (-2) and Renault Master (+10). The Skoda Octavia, Kamiq, Dacia Jogger and Skoda Superb round out the Top 10 while the Renault Arkana is up 36 spots to a record #11.
