Argentina October 2023: Jeep (+175.8%), Citroen (+70.5%), Nissan (+64.5%) stand out in market up 30.8%

The new C3 pushes Citroen sales up in Argentina.

New light vehicle sales in Argentina soar 30.8% year-on-year in October to 39,688 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 12.8% to 373,299. Toyota (+8.1%) is much weaker than the market but holds onto the brands top spot by far at 20.8% share vs. 21.8% so far this year. Volkswagen (+40.8%) is in stellar shape at #2 with 15.2% share vs. 12.7% YTD while Renault (+14.8%) is more subdued at #3. Fiat (+27%) is down two spots on September to #4. Jeep (+175.8%), Citroen (+70.5%), Nissan (+64.5%), Ford (+63.3%) and Peugeot (+32.4%) all outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10.

Strikingly, the Top 9 models all beat the market this month. The Fiat Cronos (+37.6%) stays at its usual top spot with 9.9% share, distancing the Peugeot 208 (+54.8%) back up three spots on last month to #2. The locally produced VW Amarok (+53.9%) remains the best-selling pickup truck in the country ahead of the Toyota Hilux (+32.6%) and Ford Ranger (+80.4%). The Toyota Etios (+38.5%) is up two ranks September to #5, with the Renault Kangoo (+56.5%), Nissan Frontier (+117.2%) and Chevrolet Tracker (+394.4%) all shining below. Notice also the Citroen C3 (+1008.5%) and Ford Maverick (+32550%) posting surreal year-on-year lifts.
