Slovenia September 2023: Skoda takes control, places 4 models in Top 6
The Skoda Kamiq ranks #2 in Slovenia in September.
4,051 new cars hit Slovenian roads in September, a 7.3% year-on-year improvement. This leads to a year-to-date tally up 4.4% to 38,377. This month Skoda (+16.6%) more than doubles the market growth to take the lead of the brands ranking off Volkswagen (-26.3%) enduring the steepest fall in the Top 20. Toyota (+47.4%) does even better at #3 whereas Renault (-19.9%) and Citroen (-2%) underperform. Opel (+84.4%) surges to #9 with Audi (+36.9%) and Hyundai (+9.3%) also solid. Kia (+5.7%) and Peugeot (+1.9%) can’t keep up with the market evolution.
Model-wise, Skoda places four models in the Top 6. The Octavia (-11.4%) reclaims the lead despite falling year-on-year, and is followed by the Kamiq (+63.8%) up 10 spots on August to #2. The Scala (+311.1%) is up 4-fold on a year ago and 35 ranks on last month to #4 while the Kodiaq (+9.1%) ends the month at #6. The Toyota Corolla (+239.3%) also posts a surreal gain to rank #3 vs. #10 year-to-date while the Suzuki Vitara (+23%) is in solid shape at #4 vs. #30 so far this year. Other great performers in the Top 10 are the Peugeot 208 (+65.1%) and Tesla Model Y (+29.6%). Notice also the Renault Clio down -54% to #22.
