Poland August 2023: Toyota up to record 24.3% share, Cupra in Top 10

The Toyota Corolla is up to a record 9.1% share in August.

35,456 new cars hit Polish roads in August, a limited 6.7% year-on-year increase. This way, the year-to-date tally is now up 10.7% to 303,909 units. Toyota (+42.2%) stuns with a tremendous gain to reach 24.3% share, a new record for the Japanese carmaker. Skoda (-6.4%) and Kia (+2%) fare a lot worse in the remainder of the podium. Hyundai (+7.7%) edges past the market in 4th place but Volkswagen (-1.4%) skids. Audi (+42.9%) delivers the largest gain in the Top 10 while Cupra is among the 10 best-selling brands in Poland for the first time at #10.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (+65.8%) skyrockets to a record 9.1% share, and now holds 5.2% of the market year-to-date. The Toyota Yaris (+13.8%) stands in 2nd place above the Skoda Octavia (-4.2%). The Kia Sportage (-6.7%) is also in difficulty but manages to stay 4th while the Hyundai Tucson (+37.8%) and Toyota C-HR (+57.9%) both sport fantastic gains below. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+6.1%) and VW T-Roc (+8.2%) are more discreet whereas the Dacia Duster (-41.1%) literally implodes year-on-year but manages the same share as YTD at 2.1%. The Toyota Corolla Cross returns inside the Top 10 at #10. Further down, the Cupra Formentor (+182.2%), Toyota Camry (+261.2%) and Audi Q5 (+99%) make waves.
