New Caledonia (France) August 2023: Geely places GX3 inside Top 5, market up 36%

The Geely GX3 is up to 5th place in New Caledonia in August.

New light vehicle sales in New Caledonia, a French overseas archipelago located north east of Australia, rally back up 36% year-on-year in August to 945 units. This tilts the year-to-date tally into positive territory at +1.6% to 5,668. The Top 4 brands all outpace the market, with Toyota up 50% at #1, Citroen (+65.3%) up to #2, Hyundai (+113.3%) up to #3 and Nissan (+78.1%) up to #4 . In fact six of the 7 best-sellers grow faster than this month’s average: add Renault (+37.8%) and Suzuki (+100%). Isuzu (+100%) also shines while Geely (+208.3%) breaks into the Top 10 at #10.

Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux (-32.9%) keeps the lead despite a market-defying and heavy loss. It distances the Isuzu D-Max (+127.8%) and Toyota RAV4 (+288.9%) both in outstanding shape. The Citroen Berlingo (+161.5%) is up 15 spots on July to #4 while the Geely GX3 (+650%) lands at a record 5th place. The Hyundai Tucson (+650%), Citroen C3 (+93.3%), Suzuki Swift (+160%) and Nissan Navara (+109.1%) also make themselves noticed below.
