Israel August 2023: Hyundai leads, Telsa up to #4, market up 20.7%
Tesla holds 6.7% of the Israeli market vs. 2.2% year-to-date.
Data by our local partner cartube.co.il shows an Israeli new car market up 20.7% year-on-year in August to 24,727 units. The year-to-date tally is now up 10.6% to 222,487. Hyundai (+13.9%) is a solid leader once again this month, distancing Kia (-0.2%) and Toyota (+16.2%) as it is also the case in the year-to-date order. Tesla is up 50 spots on July to land in 4th place with 6.7% share vs. 2.2% so far this year and vs. zero sales in August 2022. It pushes Skoda (+31.5%) down to #5 despite a splendid year-on-year gain. Newcomer Chinese BYD is also down one spot on July to #6 and is slightly below its YTD level at 5% vs. 5.5%. Mitsubishi (+34.6%) also beats the market in the remainder of the Top 10 at #8 while Chery is down two ranks to #10. Geely (-26.7%) climbs back up six spots on last month to #11 but sinks year-on-year. Below, MG (+216.9%) and Peugeot (+139.4%) stand out.
