Iran 7 months 2023: Saipa Tiba #1, Saipa Shahin and Iran Khodro Tara in Top 10

The Iran Khodro Tara is now inside the Iranian Top 10.

Production of models with data available in Iran is up 5.4% year-on-year over the first 7 months of 2023 to 657,983 units. Peugeot, who doesn’t share the detail by model, edges don -2% to just under 200,000 units over the period. The Saipa Tiba (-12.8%) remains the best-selling vehicle in Iran but drops significantly year-on-year. It’s not the case for the Saipa Quick hatch, up by a vigorous 16.5%. The Iran Khodro Dena (+4.1%) confirms it is now the brand’s most popular nameplate above the Samand (+22.1%). Now that the Saipa Pride is out of the equation, the Saipa 151 Van takes flight at +46.1%. Below, the new Saipa Shahin (+95.5%) advances two spots to #7 while the other local new model, the Iran Khodro Tara (+239.2%) triples its sales year-on-year to break into the Top 10 at #9.
