Taiwan July 2023: Toyota monopolises Top 4
The Toyota Town Ace is up 60.2% year-on-year in June.
42,359 new cars hit Taiwanese roads in July, a strong 10.9% year-on-year increase. The year-to-date volume is now up 14.9% to 277,216. Toyota (+11.9%) roughly matches the market to 30.7% share vs. 26.3% so far this year while Lexus (+75.2%) continues to stun in 2nd place with 8.3% share vs. 7.4% year-to-date. Ford (-6.4%) is in difficulty but climbs five spots on June to #3. Below, Hyundai (+59.5%), Mercedes (+30.5%) and Volkswagen (+88.4%) all post splendid scores. At #7, Honda (-41.8%) is penalised by the change of generation of the CR-V: #1 in June, the nameplate only registered 34 units this month.
Toyota monopolises the Top 4 models this month: the Corolla Cross (-0.5%) leads with 9.5% share ahead of the RAV4 (+90.4%), Corolla Altis (+15.4%) and Town Ace (+60.2%). The Lexus NX skyrockets 171.1% year-on-year to rank #5 overall, distancing the Toyota Yaris (+42.8%). The new MG HS is up three ranks on last month to reach a record 7th place with 2.7% share, ahead of the CMC Veryca (-27.5%) and Ford Focus (-20.3%) both in trouble and the Toyota Vios (+55.4%) rounding out the Top 10 in fantastic fashion. Just outside, the Lexus RX (+123.2%) and Honda Fit (+126.8%) impress.
