Croatia July 2023: Skoda and Octavia on top in market down
The Skoda Octavia is the best-selling vehicle in Croatia in July.
5,211 new cars found a buyer in Croatia in July, a -3.3% year-on-year dip. The year-to-date tally remains very strong however at +34.9% to 39,010. This month Skoda (+18.8%) snaps the brands leadership for the third time in the past 8 months with 14.2% share vs. 10.6% so far this year. Year-to-date leader Volkswagen (-22.9%) is in difficulty at #2 but the year-ago comparison base was particularly high as it reached 16.6% share. In fact at 13.2% for the month, the German manufacturer is above its YTD level of 12.2%. Renault (+82.9%) is down one spot on June to #3, distancing Kia (+13.6%) and Suzuki (+90.4%). Audi (+38.3%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10 as Opel (-47.9%), Dacia (-41.3%) and Peugeot (-22.7%) all freefall.
Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (-27.3%) reclaims the top spot despite being hit hard year-on-year. Leader last month and YTD, the Renault Clio (+62.3%) falls to #2 with 4.7% share. The VW Taigo (-13.6%) also loses ground but claims its best ranking since last November when it finished first. The Renault Captur (+120.6%) surges ahead at #4 above the Kia Stonic (+1.5%) up 8 ranks on last month to #5. The Skoda Kamiq (+175%), Suzuki Vitara (+142.6%) and Suzuki SX4 S-Cross (+45.9%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10.
