Romania June 2023: Top 5 100% Dacia for the third time this year, market up 19%
The Dacia Duster ranks #2 in Romania in June.
13,173 new cars found a buyer in Romania in June, a 19% year-on-year improvement leading to a year-to-date tally up 25.4% to 73,645. Dacia (+8.6%) trails its home market to 29.5% share vs. 33.4% halfway through the year, while Toyota (+1.2%) is even weaker but stays in 2nd place. Volkswagen (+35.4%), Skoda (+58%) and Renault (+92.7%) all impress to round out the Top 5. Below, Tesla (+1053.6%), Lexus (+263.6%), Suzuki (+150%), Volvo (+79%) and Cupra (+66.7%) stand out.
Over in the models aisle, for the 5th time overall and the third time this year (alongside February and March), the Top 5 is entirely composed of Dacia models. The Logan (+7.7%) easily tops the charts with 9.3% share, distancing the Duster (-1.2%) at 6.2%, the Sandero (+31.8%) at 5.6%, the Spring (+42.9%) at 5.4% and the Jogger (-16.9%) at 2.9%. Note the H1 2023 Top 5 is also 100% Dacia. The Skoda Octavia (+178.8%) is the best of the rest like last month ahead of the Toyota Corolla (-14.6%) and C-HR (+19.8%). The Hyundai Tucson (+15.5%) and Suzuki Vitara (+256.5%) close out the Top 10. Notice also the Tesla Model Y (+3733.3%) up to a record 12th place.
