Uruguay April 2023: Chevrolet reclaims top spot, sales skid -10.3%
Chevrolet sales soar 33.2% year-on-year in April.
New light vehicle sales in Uruguay accelerate their fall in April at -10.3% year-on-year to 3,781 units. This means the year-to-date volume tilts into negative at -1.2% to 16,511. Chevrolet (+33.2%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date at 13.3% share, with the next four carmakers all down. If Renault (-8.5%) and Volkswagen (-9.5%) manage to keep their decline below the market rate, it is not the case for Fiat (-20%) and Suzuki (-24.1%) both imploding. Like last month Citroen (+266.1%) and Peugeot (+55.9%) sign the biggest gains in the Top 10 just as Hyundai (-67.3%), leader a year ago, crumbles to 7th place.
Previous month: Uruguay March 2023: Citroen, Peugeot defy market off -8.8%
One year ago: Uruguay April 2022: Hyundai best-seller for the first time, market down -13.8%
