Our exclusive Chinese Brands Guide updated with 4 new brands
Today we have updated our exclusive Chinese Brands Guide with 4 new brands. Newcomers are Jaecoo, a Chery brand that will be used overseas and Omoda, also a Chery brand upgrading from sub-brand, although it was already sold as a separate marque in Russia. This means Chery Group now has the Chery, Jetour, Exeed, Jaecoo and Omoda brands to play with. We have also added Huazi, whose latest two launches are mini EVs and Huakai, more focused on light commercial vehicles.
In contrast three brands have been removed from this Guide as they have been discontinued: Letin, Niutron and the famed Hengchi by real estate giant Evergrande which had plans to sell 5 million vehicles worldwide within 10 to 15 years. The company only produced 900 units before operations stopped last month.
In balance we are still gaining brands on the Chinese market as this brings the total number of Chinese brands to 191.

Omoda also sold as separate marque in South Africa and Kazakhstan.
