Belgium March 2023: BMW back to #1, Tesla breaks all records, market surges 39.9%

Tesla breaks its ranking, volume and share records in March.

51,754 new cars joined Belgium roads in March, that’s a 39.9% year-on-year surge. However the market is still below the 54,873 units of pre-pandemic March 2019. The first quarter volume is up 27.5% to 131,484. BMW (+54.9%) reclaims the top spot for the 18th time in the past 24 month with a solid 10.4% share. Volkswagen (+32.5%) is back down to #2 while Peugeot (+41.9%) stays in third place. Mercedes (+16.8%) and Audi (+13.8%) round out the Top 5 but trail the market. In contrast Tesla (+164.1%), Dacia (+117.4%), Renault (+57.9%) and Volvo (+47%) all register fantastic year-on-year upticks. Tesla breaks all records: ranking (#7), volume (3,045) and share (5.9%). Below, MG (+1472.1%), Cupra (+289.2%), Suzuki (+104.5%), Land Rover (+81.7%), Skoda (+78.2%) and Mini (+73%) make themselves noticed.
