Cyprus January 2023: BMW most popular brand in market up 14.9%

The BMW X4 is up to #23 in January.

According to data by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, the Cyprus new car market gains 14.9% year-on-year in January to 1,275 sales. This month we have access to brand data. It shows BMW (+77.2%) spectacularly soaring up to snap the top spot with a whopping 14% share, with Kia (+47.7%) also in outstanding shape in 2nd place. In contrast Toyota (-11.5%), Hyundai (-1%) and Volkswagen (-18.2%) struggle. Dacia (+113%) and Audi (+31.3%) also impress just below while further down, Seat (+400%), Skoda (+163.6%) and Land Rover (+158.3%) make themselves noticed.

Over in the models rankings, the Toyota Yaris (+39%) confirms it is the country’s favourite with 6.4% of the market. It distances the VW T-Roc (-35.6%) and Kia Sportage. There are 9 SUVs in the Top 10, with the Nissan Qashqai (+86.4%) and Kia Stonic (+32.1%) rounding out the Top 5 followed by the Hyundai Kona (+161.5%), Tucson (-58.1%), BMW X1 (+150%), X2 (+47.4%) and Dacia Duster (+127.3%). Notice the Range Rover Evoque at #13, the BMW 2 Series at #15, the BMW X3 at #19 and the X4 at #23.
