London (UK) Full Year 2022: Tesla Model Y and Kia Niro lead in market up 3.1%

According to data from SMMT, new car sales in Greater London gain 3.1% year-on-year in 2022 to 73,144. The Tesla Model Y lands directly in pole position with a dominant 5.1% share. It is followed by the Kia Niro (+22.6%) in excellent shape at 3.9% of the market while the Nissan Qashqai (+15.9%) gains four spots to land on the third step of the podium. The Mini (-5.9%) and Tesla Model 3 (-40.7%) both underperform and round out the Top 5. We have four additional newcomers in the Top 10 this year: the MG 5 at #6, the Vauxhall Corsa at #8, the MG ZS at #9 and the Ford Puma at #10. Notice also the MG 4 up to #5 in December.
