Israel November 2022: BYD up to third place with 10.6% share, market up 42.1%
BYD is an instant blockbuster in Israel.
According to our local partner cartube.co.il, new light vehicle sales in Israel shoots up 42.1% year-on-year in November to 22,004 units. For the year-to-date, sales are down -9.3% to 256,703. Kia (-17.6%) remains in the monthly lead with 14.4% share, despite a market-defying and heavy loss but November 2021 was a record month for the brand. Toyota (-3.7%) is back up two spots on October to #2 but the surprise of the month is in third place. Chinese fare BYD, which launched only last month (and ranked directly #9), is an instant blockbuster with a massive 10.6% share thanks to 2,333 units sold. Tesla (+258.3%) follows in 4th place and 10.5% share vs. #13 and 1.9% year-to-date with Mazda (+130.2%), in great shape again, rounding out the Top 5. Geely (+1025.7%) continues to show great health at #6 with 5.4% share vs. 2.4% so far this year. Skoda (+524.4%) and MG (+472.7%) also post surreal gains in the remainder of the Top 10. Still #1 year-to-date, Hyundai (-46.5%) falters to #8 in November.
