Colombia November 2022: Suzuki Swift #1, Toyota SW4 Fortuner in Top 10, market down -4%
The Toyota SW4 Fortuner breaks into the Colombian Top 10 for the first time.
22,665 new vehicles hit Colombian roads in November, that’s a second consecutive year-on-year loss at -4%. The year-to-date total remains in positive at +6.9% to 240,681 sales. Renault (+9.6%) swims upstream to consolidate its leadership but falls behind its YTD share at 17.3% vs. 18.6%. Chevrolet (-1.1%) is a relatively solid 2nd while Suzuki (+14.3%) stays in third place above Toyota (+36.6%) both in outstanding shape. Mazda (-7.3%) closes out the Top 5 by falling faster than the market. Foton (+53.5%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10 while below, Seat (+828.6%), Subaru (+101.8%), DFSK (+52.1%), Citroen (+44.7%) and Mercedes (+22%) post some of the largest year-on-year upticks.
Model-wise, the Suzuki Swift (+113.3%) easily holds onto the top spot thanks to sales more than doubling year-on-year. It is also #1 year-to-date by far with volumes booming +272.9%. As a reminder it ranked only #15 over the Full Year 2021. In fact the Top 4 is unchanged on October with the Renault Duster (+113.3%), Chevrolet Onix (+7%) and Mazda2 (-16.9%) in tow. The Renault Sandero (+61.5%) rallies back up to #5 with the Chevrolet Joy (+7%) also up at #6. The Mazda CX-5 (+1771.4%) compensated for a devastated November 2021 result and ranks #7 vs. #17 year-to-date. The Toyota SW4 Fortuner (+88.3%) breaks into the Colombian Top 10 for what is believed to be the first time and the VW Gol (+81.5%) is also in great shape.
