Brazil November 2022: Fiat (+46.4%) places 3 models in Top 5, Hyundai HB20 #1 again
The Hyundai HB20 is the most popular vehicle in Brazil once again.
New light vehicle sales in Brazil continues to rally back up in November at +19.2% year-on-year to 191,944 units (on a November 2021 volume down -24.8% on the year prior). The year-to-date tally remains in negative however at -1.4% and 1,755,543 sales but could edge up into positive territory by the time the year comes to an end if it keeps on its current trajectory. Fiat (+46.4%) vastly outpaces the market in pole position with 23.4% share, exactly double the 11.7% share it commands at home in Italy. Volkswagen (+37.2%) is also in outstanding shape at #2 and ends the month at 15.5% share vs. 13.4% so far this year. Chevrolet (-4.8%) can’t capitalise on the market growth and is down one spot on October to #3. Toyota (+22.6%) overtakes Hyundai (+15%) to snap the 4th spot with Citroen (+58.2%), Peugeot (+51.8%), Renault (+35.4%) and Jeep (+25.1%) all beating the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Only Honda (-6.4%) struggles.
Model-wise, the Hyundai HB20 (+70.7%) repeats at #1 and scores its third ever monthly win after September 2021 and last month. It remains a distant #2 year-to-date though, below the Fiat Strada (+8.3%) back up to #2 in November. The Mobi (+1267.4%) and Argo (+22%) make it three Fiats in the Top 5 for the first time since August 2021 when the Italian carmaker monopolised the podium. The Fiat Cronos (+85.5%) manages an excellent result and is up nine spots on October to #9, with the Jeep Compass (+21.2%) also beating the market and the Chevrolet Tracker (+19.1%) matching it. The VW Nivus (+288.4%) and Peugeot 208 (+140.7%) also shine below while the Fiat Fastback (#24) tops recent launches above the Honda City Hatch (#39).
