Turkey October 2022: Skoda, Mercedes, BMW highlight market up 14.9%

Skoda sales shoot up 387.4% in October in Turkey.

65,222 new light vehicles hit Turkish roads in October, a +14.9% year-on-year improvement. However October 2021 was imploding -40.1% on the year prior which means October 2022 is off -31.2% on October 2020. The year-to-date tally now stands at 585,752 units, down -5% on the same period last year. Fiat (+7.7%) can’t keep up with the market growth but still delivers a strong 20.2% market share vs. 11.5% at home in Italy. The Top 4 is unchanged on last month with Ford (+15.2%), Renault (+32.7%) and Volkswagen (+17.2%) all beating the market. Dacia (+87.2%) rounds out the Top 5 in spectacular fashion but Skoda (+387.4%), Mercedes (+154.4%) and BMW (+121.5%) do even better in the remainder of the Top 10, as does Kia (+108%) just outside. Cupra (+1051.2%) remains above sister brand Seat (-77.5%).
