Pakistan October 2022: Suzuki up to 59.9% share, Sazgar Haval lands
The Suzuki Swift repeats at #2 in Pakistan in October.
Sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan keeps on struggling, recording a -36.3% year-on-year loss to just 13,369 units. This is the fourth consecutive 36%+ year-on-year fall for the market. As a result the year-to-date volume tilts into negative at -0.1% to 191,105. Once again brand leader Suzuki (-21.9%) drops slower than the market to improve its footprint to 59.9% share vs. 53.5% so far this year. All other brands bar Isuzu (+25%) fall faster than the average: Toyota is down -51.1%, Honda off -46.4%, Hyundai down -54.3% and JAC down -54.5%. We have a newcomer in the rankings even though only September figures were released: Sazgar Haval which ranked #5 last month. It produces and sells the Haval H6 in the Pakistani market.
Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto (-17.9%) grows to 31.3%, its highest share since last July. The Suzuki Swift (+5769.6%!) repeats at #2 with 10.1% share vs. 4.8% year-to-date while the Suzuki Cultus (-15.7%) contains its drop to climb up three spots on last month to #3. The Toyota Corolla (-69.9%) is estimated to rank #4 above the Toyota Hilux (+30.8%) and Yaris (-59.1%). The Honda BR-V (+671.4%) ignores the plunging market at #17.
