Greece October 2022: Dacia (+344.8%), Toyota (+78.3%), Peugeot (+51.2%) highlight market up 23%

New car sales in Greece lodge a third straight month of double-digit year-on-year gains in October at +23% to 7,790 units. The year-to-date volume is now up 3% to 90,726 registrations. The Top 2 manufacturers vastly outpace the market: Toyota is up 78.3% to reclaim the pole position ahead of Peugeot up 51.2%. Hyundai (+9.3%) and Volkswagen (-13.9%) trail behind but still manage to gain spots vs. September at #3 (+1) and #4 (+4) respectively. Dacia (+344.8%) is up spectacularly to #5 overall vs. #14 so far this year, with Ford (+379.4%) equally euphoric at #9 vs. #12 YTD. Mercedes (+59.2%), BMW (+55.9%) and Renault (+26.9%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Suzuki (-15.6%) struggles. Below, notice Volvo up 236.4% and DS up a surreal 776.5% to crack the Top 20 at #19.

Model-wise, the Peugeot 208 (+217.8%) rallies back up 8 spots on last month to sport its 3rd monthly win of the year after March and July. It advances to #2 year-to-date as a result. The traditional leader, the Toyota Yaris (+386%) is up 5-fold on a year ago to remain in 2nd place and cement its YTD top spot.  Best-seller last month, the Peugeot 3008 (+63.1%) drops two ranks to #3 and is now #4 year-to-date. In fact the entire Top 5 models outrace the market with the Dacia Sandero up 175.3% YoY and 23 spots on last month to #4 and the Toyota Yaris Cross gaining 438.9% YoY and 9 ranks on September to #5. The Volvo XC40 (+230.9%) is up to a record 7th place (previous best #8 in December 2020) and the Dacia Duster (+810.5%) is at its highest since January at #8.
