Croatia October 2022: Ford (+258%) places Kuga at #2 and Ecosport at #6, VW Taigo up to record #3
The Ford Kuga is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Croatia in October.
The Croatian new car market is up 6.7% year-on-year in October to 3,045 sales, yet the year-to-date tally is still down -3.9% to 38,687 units. The Top 4 brands all vastly outrace the market Volkswagen is up 88.5% to 14.5% share vs. 11.8% year-to-date, Skoda is up 163% to 14% share vs. 10% so far this year and Ford is the most impressive, up 16 spots on last month and at +258% year-on-year to 9.5% share vs. 3.5% YTD. Toyota (+27.8%) is more muted but still beats the market at #4. In contrast Kia (-45%), #1 a year ago, hits a wall. Only BMW (+12.6%) grows faster than the market in the remainder of the Top 10 with Renault (-29.4%) and Peugeot (-23.9%) faring the worst.
Over in the models ranking, the Skoda Octavia (+166.7%) easily keeps the lead with 6% share. It distances the Ford Kuga shooting up from outside the September Top 20 directly into 2nd place, its first Top 20 finish since February 2018. The VW Taigo is up 10 spots on last month to #3, a new Croatian ranking record and its highest ranking anywhere in the world. The VW Tiguan (+578.6%) and Suzuki Vitara (+116.3%) also post surreal gains while the Ford Ecosport storms into the Top 10 at #6. Notice also the Toyota Yaris (+636.4%), Skoda Kodiaq (+416.7%) and VW T-Roc (+96.2%) all in outstanding shape. The BMW 3 Series, Skoda Fabia and Renault Megane invite themselves inside the Top 20.
