Luxembourg September 2022: Peugeot (+63.6%), Volkswagen (+60.5%) help lift market up 21.2%

Peugeot manages the largest uptick in the Top 10.

3,572 new cars found a buyer in Luxembourg in September, that’s a 21.2% gain and the second straight year-on-year uptick. This has to be mitigated by the fact September 2021 was down -27.6% on the year prior. Year-to-date levels are down -8.4% over the same period last year to 32,073. Volkswagen (+60.5%) scores a splendid year-on-year lift to dominate the brands ranking once again with 12.4% share vs. 9.8% for the 2nd ranked Mercedes (+24.6%) also beating the market. #1 a year ago, BMW (-7.2%) suffers the only decline in the Top 12. In contrast, Peugeot (+63.6%), Skoda (+57%), Tesla (+54.7%), Hyundai (+38.3%), Ford (+31.9%) and Audi (+31.8%) all post sensational results in the remainder of the Top 10. Just outside, Toyota (+125.5%) and Porsche (+120.5%) stun. Notice also Cupra (#16) selling more than double the volume of Seat (#25).
