Iraq June 2022: MG up to #4, places two nameplates in Top 10

The MG ZS is up to #7 in Iraq in June.

7,799 new light vehicles found a buyer in Iraq in June. Kia consolidates its dominance with a whopping 38.4% share. Toyota ranks #2 with 27.1% of the market which means these two brands alone hold two thirds of the market in Iraq in June (65.5%)… Hyundai (8.2%) is up one spot on March to #3 as is MG (8.2%) up to #4. Well below, Chevrolet (3.1%) is up 8 ranks on March to #5 ahead of Changan (unchanged) and Suzuki (+7). Surprise #3 in March, Jeep falls back to #8 in June. Haval (#9) makes it three Chinese carmakers in the Top 10 like in March. GMC closes out the Top 10 while Dodge, Chrysler and Lexus return to the ranking.

Over in the models ranking, the Kia Frontier continues its implacable run at a massive 25.3% share: 1 in 4 new vehicles registered in Iraq this month is a Kia Frontier! The Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser SW complete the podium, both up two spots on March. They overtake the Kia Sorento down two to #4 just as the Toyota Corolla climbs two to #5 and the Hyundai Elantra remains at #6. The MG ZS is up four ranks to #7, the Chevrolet Tahoe up 29 to #8, the Kia Optima up 13 to #9 and the MG5 up 6 to #10, making it two MGs in the Top 10.
