Colombia July 2022: Suzuki Swift #1 again in stabilised market (+0.6%)

The Suzuki Swift is #1 year-to-date in Colombia.

New vehicle sales in Colombia have stabilised and edge up 0.6% year-on-year to 23,258 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 9.5% to 147,107 sales. Renault (-10.8%) easily keeps the lead of the brands ranking with 19.5% share despite losing significant ground year-on-year. Chevrolet (+45.7%) catches up on lost ground vs. poor year-ago results while Suzuki (+108.2%) surges ahead and climbs onto the July podium. Toyota (-15.8%) is toppled to #4 with Kia (-17%) staying in fifth place. Volkswagen (+17.7%) and Hyundai (+6.3%) are the remaining gainers in the Top 10. Below, Foton (+58.6%) impresses but slips out of the Top 10.

Model-wise, the Suzuki Swift (+299.5%) is up 4-fold year-on-year to cement its domination with 6.6% share. It is also #1 year-to-date (+410.8%) with 4.6% of the market. The Renault Duster (+54.3%) also posts a fantastic gain in 2nd place, a ranking it also holds YTD. The Chevrolet Joy (-19.3%) is down year-on-year but rallies back up 13 spots on June to #3 overall. The Renault Kwid (-22.1%) drops two ranks on last month to #4 while the Suzuki Vitara (+67.2%) is up 9 to #5. The Chevrolet Tracker (+3370%) posts a surreal gain at #8 due to the arrival of the new generation with the Chevrolet Onix (+916.1%) up 10-fold at #9.
