China LCV April 2022: Great Wall (-35%) resists best, registrations off -52%

In a devastated market, Great Wall fares best among the Top 10 manufacturers.

The Chinese Light Commercial Vehicle market is off -52% year-on-year in April to 178,122 units, faring worse than the Passenger Car market (-47.6%). The year-to-date volume is now -23% to 952,577 registrations. In the brands ranking, Wuling (-57%) and Foton (-59%) keep the lead despite falling faster than the market, unlike Changan (-43%) at #3. Dongfeng (-53%) follows while Great Wall (-35%) posts the best hold in the Top 10. JAC (-53%) follows the market but JMC (-58%), Jinbei (-59%) and Maxus (-56%) flounder. Finally Ford (-36%) makes a rare appearance inside the Top 10. The Top 3 models remain unchanged with the Foton Light Truck (-61%) in the lead above the Wuling Mini Truck (-46%) and Changan Light Truck (-46%).
