Slovenia April 2022: VW T-Roc scores first win in market off -8.5%

The VW T-Roc is the best-selling vehicle in Slovenia in April.

3,918 new cars hit Slovenian roads in April 2022, that’s a -8.5% year-on-year dip leading to a year-to-date tally off -19% to 16,670. Volkswagen (-11.5%) remains by far the best-selling carmaker here with 15.9% share vs. 14.6% so far this year. Its three followers beat the market with year-on-year upticks: Renault is up 2.5% at #2, Hyundai doubles its sales to #3 and Toyota is up 44.7% to #4. Opel (+72.4%), Dacia (+16.7%) and Kia (+12.1%) also manage lifts in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, notice Porsche (+125%), Cupra (+78.6%), Mercedes (+75%), Jeep (+62.1%), Mazda (+37.7%) posting fantastic gains whereas Nissan (-51.8%), Citroen (-50.8%) and Seat (-47.8%) freefall. 

Model-wise, after the VW Tiguan last month, it’s the turn of the VW T-Roc (+22.8%) to lodge its first ever win in Slovenia, hitting 4% share vs. 2.9% so far this year and gaining 8 spots on March. The Renault Clio (+0.7%) is back up five ranks on last month to #2 and remains the uncontested leader year-to-date. The VW T-Cross (-28.5%) drops harshly year-on-year but gains 10 spots on March to land at #3, distancing the Hyundai Tucson (+51.5%) and Kia Sportage (+52.4%) both in excellent shape due to new generations. The new Toyota Yaris (#6) marks four consecutive months in the Slovenian Top 10, improving two spots on last month. The Opel Mokka (+254.5%) also impresses and lifts 21 ranks on March to #7. The Toyota Yaris (+47.1%) and Citroen C3 (+12.1%) are also in positive in the remainder of the Top 10. The new VW Taigo is up 10 spots on last month to #11, with the Hyundai i30 (+329.4%) and Kia Xceed (+168%) both posting extravagant gains just below.
