Uruguay March 2022: Fiat (27% share) reclaims control of market up 25.7%
Fiat sales in Uruguay are up 61.8% year-on-year in March.
5,794 new light vehicles found a new home in Uruguay in March, a 25.7% year-on-year improvement. The Q1 2022 tally tilts into positive as a result at +5.5% to 12,485 units. After a very slow start of the year, Fiat (+61.8%) catches up on lost sales with a surreal 27% share this month, enough to bring it back to the #1 YTD position, a ranking it held over the Full Year 2021. Chevrolet (+97.6%) and Suzuki (+109.8%) round out the podium in spectacular fashion with 11.4% and 10.7% share respectively. In contrast Renault (-13.3%) and Volkswagen (-13%) recede year-on-year. Among the rest of the Top 10 models, only Toyota (+24.8%) manages to outrace the market whereas Peugeot (-35.6%) and Nissan (-25.3%) freefall and Hyundai (+18.9%) and Citroen (+4.7%), although up year-on-year, can’t catch up with the market growth. Geely (+2450%), Mitsubishi (+491.7%) and GWM (+132.4%) stand out below.
