Israel February 2022: Toyota (+32.8%) takes charge in stable market (-0.8%)
Toyota is the best-selling carmaker in Israel in January.
Based on data shared with us by our Israeli partner cartube.co.il, new car sales in Israel edge down -0.8% year-on-year n February to 25,291 units. This brings the year-to-date tally down -15% to 62,695 sales. Toyota (+32.8%) lodges the biggest gain in the Top 7 and takes charge of the brands charts with 18.3% share, however Hyundai (-4.9%) remains the top seller year-to-date with 20.2% of the market vs. 15% for Toyota. Kia (+4.4%) drops one spot on January to #3, followed by Mitsubishi (+4.5%), Mazda (-1.4%) and Skoda (-35.5%). Down to #50 with just 8 sales in January, Tesla storms back into the Top 10 at #7 with 3.8% share now that the end-of-quarter approaches. Suzuki (+54%) and Citroen (+52.3%) score the largest upticks in the Top 10 which is closed by a dynamic Peugeot (+18.3%). MG (+53.3%), Lexus (+53%), Dacia (+39.1%) and BMW (+29.4%) make themselves noticed further down while among smaller brands Genesis (+609.1%), Cupra (+7300%) and Maxus (+1175%) shoot up.
