San Marino Full Year 2021: Volkswagen and Audi top market up 3.2%

Volkswagen is the most successful carmaker in San Marino in 2021.

San Marino is a landlocked country within Italy, and its new car market is up 3.2% year-on-year in 2021 to 889 registrations. Unlike in Italy Volkswagen (+8.5%) remains the most popular brand in the country, this time distancing Audi (+11.2%) which overtakes Suzuki (-28.4%) to #2. Toyota (+50%) posts the largest gain in the Top 10 and advances to 4th place overall, toppling Fiat (-18.4%) down to a paltry 5th place. Opel (+33.3%), BMW (+13.3%) and Mercedes (+28%) also show strong results in the remainder of the Top 10. Further down, Volvo (+110%), Hyundai (+71.4%), Alfa Romeo (+57.1%), Jeep (+57.1%), Mini (+41.7%), Seat (+27.3%) and Citroen (+21.4%) also impress.
